LIBR 100 ONLINE. Open for Enrollment Now

A new, online section of LIBR 100 Introduction to Library Research is open for enrollment. The class runs from October 12th to December 7. This class satisfies Information Competency graduation requirement. For more information, please contact the instructor. If you've never taken an online class some, check out these words of wisdom.

Resources for College of San Mateo History

The new Athletics Hall of Fame for College of San Mateo has brought the library a new neighbor!

Located in front of the Gym - Building 8

Curious how the bulldog became the mascot for CSM? The library has resources that can help you research this and other facts about CSM History.
  • Written in 1996, Class Act: College of San Mateo: a History by Michael Svanevik & Shirley Burgettis is the most complete history of this school.
  • The library also has copies of the school newspaper and the school yearbook as far back as the 1920s.

Hours Change

From August 1 - 14 our hours will be Monday - Thursday from 2:00pm - 7:00pm. We will then be closed August 15-16. We will return to our normal schedule on the first day of the Fall semester on Wednesday, August 17.

Summer Session courses start 6/20/11

LIBR 100 starts Monday June 20, 2011. It will meet in the library classroom from 10:30-11:45am Monday - Thursday.

We'll be offering two classes this summer.

LIBR 100 is an introduction to library research. It can help to bolster your research and citation skills, as well as fulfill the CSM Information Competency graduation requirement.

LIBR 105 is a bit more advanced. You'll be exploring research in various disciplines at a deeper level and gain more expertise in locating and evaluating special kinds of information sources.

It's the Season for Research...Papers

The season of writing papers is almost here! For some folks it has already arrived :) . The library offers many resources to help with creating your citations including the Citation Sources page and a subscription to Noodlebib (citation generator) that CSM students can use.


We have two additional tools for students who need to create their Works Cited pages (MLA style) or Reference Lists (APA style).
