Everyone's invited!
The CSM Library will be hosting an Open House on Friday, September 6th from 9:30am - 3pm (we're in Building 9). Drop by for some fun and adventure in the library! There'll be a trivia
contest, a scavenger hunt, snacks, prizes and much more! Come by and see what we have to offer and how we can help you succeed at CSM!
We'll have two Makerspace Events going on during the Open House (learn more about the CSM Library Makerspace http://collegeofsanmateo.edu/library/makerspace.php):
Structure Straws: Soda Straw Architecture
Friday, September 6th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Hosted by: CSM Architecture Club and the CSM Library
The structures that shelter us are all based on simple
geometric forms; triangles, squares, and circles. Learn about the
basic building blocks of architecture and help us build a geodesic
dome out of soda straws!
MakerBot 3-D Printer Demonstration
Friday, September 6th from 12:30 am - 2:30 pm
Hosted by: CSM Engineering Club
Join the Engineering Club as they show off their cool new
3-D printer that can turn digital files into real objects that you can
pick up and touch!

Welcome to Fall 2013!
Welcome back to Students and Faculty! Here are a few items to get done this week.
- Get a library card. If you don't already have a PLS library card from any library in San Mateo County, you can apply for a new card at the College of San Mateo Library.
- Get a USB flash drive to save your school work. You can buy them at the campus bookstore -you'll probably need 4 gigabytes or more.
- Check College Reserves for your textbooks. If your instructor has a copy and puts it in College Reserves, you can check it our for use in the library. Check back often -- new reserve items get added as the semester progresses.
- If you are taking distance education classes check out the library's Distance Education Resources.
- Meet the librarians and library staff! Stop by, email us or chat with us online. We're here to answer your questions and help get you off to your best possible start this fall semester!
